The Albatross Mark 1

Cruise Configuration
The Albatross Mark 1 features a streamlined, tailless design. Control is achieved by thrust vectoring the propellers and with two elevons on the outer wing.
With current day battery technology, the design features:

    >   230 km/hr speed
    >   6.7 m span
    >   175 km range
Hover Configuration
A single hinge in the wing allows the design to transition to hover mode. In this phase, control is similar to a quadcopter. This tilt-wing mechanism allows the footprint of the design to be reduced further, resulting in a footprint of 2.3 by 6.7 metres. This allows Albatross to fit on standard parking spaces.
The rotors are spaced in such a way that the design is still capable of hovering if any one of them fails. Together with a ballistic parachute, this adds redundancy to the design.

Modes of Operation

Compact
Allows for tight parking and is less vulnerable to storms.
Boarding
Brings the cabin closer to the ground, increasing accessibility.
Hover
Points the thrusters straight up whilst maintaining a comfortable cabin angle.
Cruise
Aligns the wing with cabin, enabling efficient lift generation and high top speeds.
